I bought a Kata MiniBee-110 PL backpack and the long waist strap appears to be removable. It attaches with a plastic connector, but I couldn't tell how it releases and I didn't want to force it and break anything. How is this type of connector operated to detach the strap?

Looks to me like you pull up on one tab and push down on the other.

This looks like a locking plastic strap connector that opens by moving the two tabs in opposite directions: pull up on one tab while pushing down on the other. It may require more pressure than expected, so use firm, controlled force rather than twisting or prying randomly. If it doesn’t move, double-check the tab orientation and try again while supporting the connector close to the attachment point to avoid stressing the bag fabric.
