How do I restore full image resolution on a Canon PowerShot A2300?

My Canon PowerShot A2300 was taking normal photos until recently, but now the image files are only a few KB instead of around 4 MB, and the quality looks worse. I may have changed a setting by accident. How can I set the camera back to the highest image resolution and better image quality?

It sounds like the camera’s image size setting was changed to a smaller resolution.
On the Canon PowerShot A2300, you can restore the highest resolution by:
- Pressing the FUNC./SET button.
- Using the up/down arrows to highlight the image size setting.
- Using the left/right arrows to select L (Large).
On this model, L is the highest resolution setting (about 16MP), and it should give you the best clarity and larger file sizes than the medium or small settings.
If your photos still seem unusually tiny after setting L, double-check that you’re in normal still-photo mode and not using any reduced-size shooting mode.
