On many folding cameras of this era, the lens is a lens-in-shutter design: the front and rear optical groups usually screw into the central shutter/aperture unit rather than the shutter itself coming apart first. In other words, don’t keep dismantling the shutter body if the goal is just to reach the glass.

The usual next step is to check whether the front or rear lens cells will unscrew from the shutter/aperture assembly. Look for lens barrel threads at the front or back and try carefully unscrewing the optical group(s). That is often how you gain access for cleaning fungus, dust, or debris between elements.

Be gentle—old shutters and retaining rings can be fragile or seized. If nothing appears threaded or it feels stuck, forcing it risks damaging the shutter mechanism or lens alignment.
