How can I see exactly what Auto Enhance changed in Apple Aperture?

In Apple Aperture, when I use Quick Fixes like Auto Enhance, I can see broad categories such as Enhance, Levels, and Edge Sharpen, but I want to know the specific adjustments that were applied. For example, did it change vibrancy, contrast, saturation, or sharpening amounts, and by how much? Is there a way to inspect the exact settings Aperture applied, or do I have to check each adjustment panel manually?

Use "lift adjustments" to see the details of any adjustments to the image.

For example, after doing "Auto Enhance", the lift adjustments HUD shows:

Enhance: Vibrancy (0.20)

Levels: Auto Levels

Edge sharpen: Intensity (0.50), Edges (0.22), Falloff (0.69)

Yes — in Aperture you can use Lift Adjustments to inspect what was applied. After running Auto Enhance, Lift Adjustments can show the specific edits, for example:

  • Enhance: Vibrancy (0.20)
  • Levels: Auto Levels
  • Edge Sharpen: Intensity (0.50), Edges (0.22), Falloff (0.69)

If a setting has changed, it should also appear in the relevant adjustment panel. In practice, though, Aperture does not seem to provide one simple, complete summary for every preset beyond this, especially for more complex or dynamic adjustments. Some automatic corrections may depend on the image and may be applied in a way that avoids clipping or adjusts curves adaptively.

So the best approach is:

  1. Apply the preset or Auto Enhance.
  2. Use Lift Adjustments to see the key changes.
  3. Check the individual adjustment panels if you need more detail.
