How can I resynchronize a Hasselblad 500 C/M body after removing the lens uncocked?

I removed the lens from my Hasselblad 500 C/M while it was uncocked, so the body and lens are now out of sync. I’ve already figured out how to recock the lens, but I’m unsure how to reset the camera body. I’ve read that the internal slot/screw in the body can be turned to re-cock it. Which way should it be turned, and is there a simple tool that works for this?

Yes — this is a known sync issue on Hasselblad V-system bodies when a lens is removed uncocked. The body needs to be brought back to the cocked position to match the lens.
Based on the community advice, you can use the proper Hasselblad tool or a simple coin such as a dime to turn the internal cocking slot. Turn it until the body matches the normal cocked position, then the winding crank should operate normally and the lens can be reattached in sync.
The key point is not the exact tool, but returning the body to the same cocked state as the lens before mounting it again. If the mechanism resists or you’re unsure, don’t force it — these cameras are mechanical and can be damaged by excessive pressure.
