I often change settings for a specific situation, then forget to change them back before the next time I shoot. For example, I once raised ISO very high for a dark theater, then the next day I was shooting in bright sun with the same settings still active. Are there any simple habits or tricks to help remember to check or reset settings each time I start shooting? I’m using a Canon Digital Rebel XT.

One trick that I've heard recommended is to always check and reset your settings every time you take your camera out of the bag. Which really means every day when you start shooting.
I can't remember anything, I'm lucky to remember to take the camera along.
