How can I reattach a loose decorative name ring on a lens safely?

The decorative front name ring on my Pentax Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4 has come loose and is lifting away from the lens barrel. The lens still works optically, but the ring is no longer secured at all of its original points. I’d like to know the safest way to reattach this cosmetic ring without damaging the lens.

So I've solved my problem with super glue. My friend told me super glue works best between metals and it's holding it down just fine. I first grinded away the yellow powder and related where it was held, giving the glue a clean surface for the glue to bind on.
Word of caution I was ok throwing the lens/selling it for parts if it didn't work out.

Generated from our catalog & community — verify before relying on it.
If the loose part is only the decorative front name ring, the practical fix is to remove any old residue or corrosion so the mating surfaces are clean, then bond it back in place carefully. In the reported case, super glue was used successfully after cleaning away the yellow powder and preparing clean metal surfaces.
Use great caution: adhesive near the front element or threads can permanently damage the lens, create fumes that leave residue on glass, or make future servicing difficult. Apply only a very small amount, keep it away from optical surfaces and moving parts, and align the ring before it sets.
If the loose screw is structural rather than cosmetic, that is a separate issue and should be handled carefully before relying on the lens. If you are not comfortable risking the lens, a camera repair technician is the safest option.
