How can I get around 300 ft of wireless tethering with live view from a Canon T7i outdoors?

I’m using a Canon Rebel T7i’s built-in Wi‑Fi to control the camera from a phone, including live view and triggering. In practice, the built-in connection only reaches about 30 ft with live view enabled, or roughly 60 ft without it, even outdoors with clear line of sight.
I’d like to operate the camera from as far as 300 ft away while still seeing live view, because the camera will be mounted on a movable platform and I need to monitor where it is pointing. This would be used while backpacking, so battery-powered gear and low weight are important.
Is there a practical way to extend wireless tethering/live view range that far? Would an external wireless tethering device or portable Wi‑Fi extension setup work better than the camera’s built-in Wi‑Fi?

As your setup is very specific, I would suggest a parabolic wifi extender. This way the wifi signal is not wasted in the universe.
Take a look at Parabolic Wifi and see if there is something you can use. Try adding the word "portable".
There are even some DIY projects. If you put your tablet in the focal point, the theory is that you will have better reception.
There are some drone-range-extender If your gear has an antenna, that probably can help.

Yes, but the camera’s built-in Wi‑Fi is usually the limiting factor, so 300 ft with live view is unlikely from the camera alone.
Based on the answers, the most practical options are:
-
Dedicated wireless tethering hardware such as CamRanger. It’s designed for camera remote control and live view, and was specifically suggested because it offers much longer range than many cameras’ built-in Wi‑Fi.
-
A portable Wi‑Fi extension setup. In theory, you can extend range with battery-powered routers/range extenders, but because the camera’s own radio is weak, you may need more than one unit, placed between you and the camera.
-
Directional/parabolic Wi‑Fi antennas/extenders. These can improve line-of-sight range by focusing the signal instead of broadcasting it broadly, though portability and setup complexity may be drawbacks.
For backpacking, a dedicated remote system is likely the simplest and lightest workable approach. Range extenders and directional antennas can help, but they add gear, batteries, and setup complexity.
