How can I find and install user-created lens profiles for Lightroom 3 and Camera Raw 6.1?

Lightroom 3 and Adobe Camera Raw 6.1 include built-in lens correction profiles, but coverage for some camera and lens combinations is limited. Adobe also released a tool for creating custom lens profiles, and I'd like to know whether there is a community or official source for sharing and downloading user-made profiles that work with Lightroom as well as Camera Raw.

After asking this question and searching some more I found a Adobe employee confirming they were creating a site for this purpose. See: [suggestion] shared profiles server.

Yes. Adobe provided an official way to find shared user-created lens profiles: the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader. It is separate from the Lens Profile Creator and is designed to search, download, install, rate, and comment on community-made profiles.
According to the community answers, those downloaded profiles work with Lightroom 3, Camera Raw 6, and Photoshop. Adobe was also building a shared-profile server for this purpose, so the intended solution was to use Adobe’s own profile-sharing ecosystem rather than a separate third-party community.
If you need profiles beyond the built-in database, the practical answer is to use the Lens Profile Downloader to browse and install user-submitted profiles.
