I'm trying to shoot a time-lapse with a Sony A57. Does this camera have a built-in time-lapse function? If not, can I use an external intervalometer, and where would I typically find one?

Having looked through the manual, I believe there is no time lapse function built into the A57. You should be able to find an intervalometer at any good camera shop, or online; they are fairly common.

The Sony A57 does not appear to have a built-in time-lapse function. If you want to shoot a time-lapse, the usual solution is an external intervalometer.

Intervalometers are common accessories and are typically available from camera shops and online photo retailers. When shopping, just make sure you choose one that is compatible with the Sony A57’s remote/shutter connection.
