Do Konica AR to Sony E adapters need a mechanical aperture control lever?

I want to adapt a Tokina 28mm f/2.8 in Konica AR mount to a Sony E/NEX body. The lens has an aperture ring plus an auto-exposure setting, and I was wondering whether I need a non-electronic adapter with a built-in aperture control lever to operate the diaphragm, or if a simple passive Konica AR to E-mount adapter is enough.

Any lens with Konica AR mount (*) has an aperture ring for controlling the aperture, so I'm sure that no such adapter exists, as it would be completely redundant (and imprecise too).

The "AE" or "EE" position can't be used (it's equivalent to the slowest aperture). Just unlock the aperture ring, and choose the aperture on the lens. The camera needs to be in "M" or "A" mode.

(*) as long as the lens has an aperture at all - e.g. mirror lenses usually don't.

A mechanical aperture-control adapter is generally not needed for Konica AR lenses. Konica AR-mount lenses normally have their own aperture ring, so you set the f-stop on the lens itself and use a simple passive Konica AR to Sony E adapter.

If your lens has an "AE" or "EE" setting, don’t leave it there when adapting; that setting is not useful on a passive adapter. Unlock the ring if needed and select the aperture manually on the lens. Then shoot in Aperture Priority or Manual mode on the camera.

So, for a typical Konica AR Tokina 28mm f/2.8, a standard non-electronic Konica AR to E-mount adapter should be sufficient.
