I want to save as much battery as possible during timelapse shooting on an Olympus OM-D E-M1. Is there any menu setting or method to disable both the rear LCD and the electronic viewfinder while the camera is shooting?

After reviewing the OM-D E-M1 user manual for firmware version 4.0, there appears to be no way to turn off both the LCD and EVF.

Based on the OM-D E-M1 manual (firmware 4.0), there does not appear to be any option to turn off both the rear LCD and the EVF during timelapse shooting. In other words, the camera does not offer a setting to fully disable both displays for extra battery savings in that mode.
If battery life is a concern, the practical workaround is to use spare batteries or external power options if available for your setup.
