Can the Fujifilm X-T20 automatically disable the EVF when the LCD is tilted out?

On my Fujifilm X-T20, the camera can still switch to the EVF even when the rear LCD is tilted out. Some cameras automatically favor the LCD when the screen is pulled away from the body. Does the X-T20 have a setting to disable the EVF whenever the LCD is tilted out, or is there another workaround?

The Fujifilm X-T20 does not have that feature. There is no way to add because the camera has no idea that the LCD is pulled out. On those with that feature, there is usually a sensor or mechanical switch that gets pushed in when the LCD is flush against the body which enables the camera to behave differently.

No. The Fujifilm X-T20 does not have a feature to detect that the rear LCD has been tilted out, so it cannot automatically disable the EVF based on screen position. Cameras that support this behavior typically have a dedicated sensor or switch that tells the camera whether the screen is flush against the body. Since the X-T20 lacks that hardware, there’s no setting to enable this automatic behavior. Your practical workaround is to use the camera’s View Mode button to manually choose an LCD-focused display mode instead of automatic EVF switching.
