I have an Epson XP-970 and want to print square photo sizes like 8x8 and 10x10 inches, which don’t appear in the default print settings. The printer has A3 and A4 paper feeds. Can this model print custom sizes like these, and if so, how would I set them up?

Yes—if the paper is within the XP-970’s supported paper size range, you can usually print square sizes like 8x8 or 10x10 by creating a custom paper size in the print driver or photo printing software. In the print dialog, look for paper size or printer properties, then choose a user-defined/custom size and enter the dimensions. You’ll also want to set the correct paper type and choose borderless only if that size/media combination is supported. If a size isn’t available in one tray, try the rear/manual feed if your printer supports that paper path for photo media. Also make sure your image file is cropped to a square aspect ratio, otherwise the printer software may crop or add borders.
