Can Photoshop pause during a batch action so I can preview each image?

I’m running a Photoshop batch process on a folder of photos, and the files move through too quickly for me to see the edits before the next one opens. Autosave is off, but I still want a brief pause so I can preview the result as the batch runs. Is there a way to add a pause or wait step inside the action?

You can insert a "Stop" action anywhere you want. It doesn't actually stop the batch, but pauses it. See the section "Insert a stop" at Creating actions in Adobe's Photoshop User Guide.

Yes. In Photoshop you can add a Stop step inside the action. This pauses the batch at that point so you can view the image before continuing. It doesn’t permanently stop the batch; it waits for your input and then proceeds to the next steps/files. In the Actions panel, edit your action and insert a Stop where you want the preview pause to happen.
