Can Lightroom track when a photo was printed?

I want to keep track of which photos I’ve printed from Lightroom, ideally without relying on printer software logs. Does Lightroom record print events and their dates, or only when a print/export file is saved? What’s a practical way to track printed photos in a Lightroom workflow?

LR 5.7, at least, notes Print and Export events in each photo's history.

However I use several other practices in my workflow to keep track of what I've printed:

  1. I export a copy of everything sent to a printer to a separate folder.

  2. I use a color label to indicate that a photo has been printed (and if I want to see exactly what I can either check the photo's history or check the image of the same name in my "Printed" folder.)

If my workflow didn't leave color labels free for this purpose I would use a Keyword Tag like "Printed" for this purpose.

Yes. In Lightroom 5.7 at least, print and export actions are recorded in each photo’s History, so you can review a photo’s edit history to see those events.

For ongoing workflow tracking, community suggestions were:

  • export a copy of every image sent to the printer into a separate folder, such as a “Printed” folder
  • apply a color label to photos that have been printed
  • if color labels are already used for something else, add a keyword like “Printed” instead

A practical approach is to use Lightroom’s History to verify when a print/export happened, and use labels, keywords, or a dedicated exported folder to quickly identify printed images later.
