Can I use second-curtain sync with an off-camera Canon 580EX triggered by Cybersync on a 5D Mark II?

I’m using a Canon 5D Mark II with a 580EX off-camera on a light stand, triggered by Cybersync radio triggers. Since the camera doesn’t recognize the trigger as a Canon-compatible flash, I can’t set second-curtain sync from the camera, and setting it on the flash itself doesn’t seem to help.
Is second-curtain sync possible with this kind of setup, or do I need different triggers to make it work?

No. Unfortunately the 5D2 does not allow 2nd Curtain Sync unless there is an attached to Canon EX compatible speedlite.
It's unfortunate as the only solutions seem to be workarounds, or expensive radio triggers.

Not with Cybersyncs on a 5D Mark II. The camera can only enable second-curtain sync when it detects a Canon EX-compatible flash or a trigger that emulates one on the hot shoe.
So with a basic manual radio trigger, the flash just fires when it receives the signal, and second-curtain timing isn’t passed through.
To get second-curtain sync off-camera, you need a trigger system that supports Canon TTL-style communication or mimics an on-camera flash. Community examples mentioned include PocketWizard MiniTT1/FlexTT5, Yongnuo YN-622C, and some Godox X triggers.
In short: your current setup won’t do it; different triggers are required.
