The flash tube in my Elinchrom Style 600RX has failed, and original replacements are hard to find in stock. Can I use a flash tube from another brand, or a generic tube with the same wattage, or are these not really interchangeable?

Most likely yes - of the firing voltage is the same . I tried to find it for the 24029 but no luck . Anyway you don't wanna do this . The pulse duration will be different most likely, also it is not really guaranteed that the power setting will work correctly any more . You have a very nice flash head why would you want other then the original part .

Usually, no—not as a good long-term solution. Even if another tube has a compatible firing voltage and seems close electrically, flash tubes are not truly universal parts. A non-original tube may change flash pulse duration and can affect how accurately the strobe’s power settings work. In other words, it might fire, but performance may no longer match the head’s design. For a quality strobe like the Elinchrom Style 600RX, the safest and most reliable choice is the correct original replacement tube or a manufacturer-approved equivalent.
