Can I print borderless with matte black ink on a Canon Pro-10?

On the Canon Pro-10, the driver appears to use matte black ink only when a fine art paper type is selected. But those fine art settings also enforce a wide border, so I can't print to the full sheet area. Is there any reliable way to get the printer to use matte black ink without the forced border, or is swapping cartridges the only workaround?

Generally printing to the edge causes problems with ink smearing, image quality at the edges, and on some printers can potentially (but unlikely) damage the print head. If you want a borderless image, just cut down the print.

Based on the available answer, there isn’t a recommended driver workaround here. Fine art matte settings often enforce borders for a reason: edge-to-edge printing can cause ink smearing, reduced image quality near the edges, and in some cases may risk printer issues.

So if the Pro-10 requires bordered fine art settings to use matte black ink, the practical approach is to print with the required border and then trim the print to the final size if you need a borderless result.

In short: no supported alternative is identified in the answers; trimming after printing is the safest suggested solution.
