Can I hide autopoles behind a seamless paper backdrop like a wall-mounted background system?

I’d like to use two autopoles for a background setup, but in most examples the poles remain visible at the sides. Is there a clamp, hanger, or other method that lets me mount seamless paper so the autopoles sit hidden behind the backdrop, similar to a wall-mounted background holder? I can’t drill into the wall, so I’m looking for a freestanding/autopole-based solution.

The rollers for the seamless must be mounted at the ends.
You would need to make what is essentially a section of wall (say from 3/4" plywood) that could be mounted to the autopoles with any variety of pipe clamps. If you needed it to be more portable you could use small truss clamps.

There doesn’t appear to be a simple off-the-shelf autopole solution that fully hides the poles the same way a true wall-mounted background system does.
The main issue is that seamless paper rollers are normally supported at the ends, so the side supports remain visible unless you create some kind of structure behind the paper. The practical options suggested were:
- build a rigid panel or frame (for example, plywood or metal) and clamp that to the autopoles, essentially creating a temporary “wall” behind the backdrop
- have a metalworker adapt a wall-mount style background holder onto a freestanding frame that can fasten to autopoles
- use hanger-style backdrop supports designed to keep a support pole behind fabric or screen backdrops, though these may suit cloth/screens better than standard paper roll systems
So: possible, yes, but usually by custom framing or using a different style of backdrop support rather than a standard seamless roller mounted directly to autopoles.
