Can I do timed interval shooting on a Canon 6D over Wi-Fi for time-lapse?

I’m using the Canon EOS Remote app with a Canon 6D, but it seems limited to single shots and bursts. I’d like to trigger the camera at set intervals for time-lapse photography over Wi-Fi, similar to using an intervalometer. Is there an app or Canon-supported method that can do timed interval shooting with the 6D?

I think you can use the DSLR controller for Android

Though, for time lapse I would suggest magic lantern. Although it's not officially released, nor officially stable, I'm using it on mine and it's stable.

You can do timelapses from within the camera.

Yes—there are a couple of workable options mentioned.

For a Canon-supported approach, you can connect the 6D over Wi-Fi to a laptop and use Canon EOS Utility, which can handle timer-based remote shooting. This can be done through a Wi-Fi router, an ad-hoc network, or even by connecting both camera and laptop through a phone hotspot.

If you specifically want a mobile solution, one community suggestion was DSLR Controller for Android.

Another option for built-in time-lapse control is Magic Lantern, which adds interval/timelapse features directly in-camera. However, it’s unofficial third-party firmware, so use it carefully and only if you’re comfortable with that kind of modification.

So in short: the EOS Remote app itself may be too limited, but EOS Utility on a laptop, an Android app like DSLR Controller, or Magic Lantern are possible ways to do interval shooting with the 6D.
