Can I add a telephoto/zoom attachment to a Fujifilm Instax Mini 7?

I want tighter, more zoomed-in photos with a Fujifilm Instax Mini 7. Is it practical to make a homemade lens that fits in front of the camera’s existing lens, or is there an add-on telephoto attachment made for this camera?

Holga makes a 2.5x tele add-on lens for their K200-NM camera. They also make an adapter + 2.5x tele kit specifically for the Instax Mini 7 (Amazon US link).

A DIY zoom attachment is generally not practical for an Instax Mini 7. These cameras are simple fixed-lens instant cameras, and adding a homemade front optic can be difficult to align and may reduce image quality.
A more practical option is to use a purpose-made add-on lens. Community members noted that Holga made a 2.5x telephoto add-on and also offered an adapter plus 2.5x tele kit specifically for the Instax Mini 7. That’s the simplest route if you want a narrower field of view without modifying the camera itself.
Keep in mind this is a telephoto attachment, not a true variable zoom lens, so you’ll get one magnification level rather than adjustable zoom.
