A DIY zoom attachment is generally not practical for an Instax Mini 7. These cameras are simple fixed-lens instant cameras, and adding a homemade front optic can be difficult to align and may reduce image quality.

A more practical option is to use a purpose-made add-on lens. Community members noted that Holga made a 2.5x telephoto add-on and also offered an adapter plus 2.5x tele kit specifically for the Instax Mini 7. That’s the simplest route if you want a narrower field of view without modifying the camera itself.

Keep in mind this is a telephoto attachment, not a true variable zoom lens, so you’ll get one magnification level rather than adjustable zoom.
