Can any digital cameras preview a long exposure while it is still being captured?

Are there cameras or firmware features that can read the sensor during a long bulb exposure and update the screen with a partial image before the exposure finishes? I’m especially interested in whether this exists for light painting or other long-exposure work.

Yes, actually. The Olympus OM-D E-M5 has a "live bulb" feature which does exactly this.
This shows previews at intervals from half a second to a minute during a bulb-mode exposure.

Yes. Some cameras do offer this. Based on the answers here, the Olympus OM-D E-M5 has a feature called Live Bulb that previews the image at set intervals during a bulb exposure. The display can update anywhere from about every 0.5 seconds to once per minute while the exposure is still in progress. That makes it useful for light painting and other long-exposure techniques, because you can watch the image build up and stop the exposure when it looks right.
