Can Adobe Creative Cloud/Lightroom keep full local copies of my original photos?

I’m considering Adobe’s Photography plan with Lightroom and want to understand how file storage and syncing work. I do not want my originals to exist only in the cloud. I want full local copies of my photos, and ideally I’d like multiple computers to each have local copies, similar to how Dropbox works. With Adobe’s cloud sync, can I keep full local copies of my originals, and is cloud syncing optional?

Yes, you always have full local copies of all of your originals. CC can sync to their cloud, and keep other clients (mobile, other PCs, etc.) in sync, but you are in complete control of that. You do not have to sync to their cloud at all if you don't wish to.

Yes. Based on the community answer, you keep full local copies of your original files and remain in control of whether anything syncs to Adobe’s cloud. Cloud syncing is optional—you do not have to use it at all if you don’t want to. If you do use sync, Adobe’s cloud can help keep other devices in sync, but it does not require you to give up local originals. So if your concern is whether Adobe forces your files to live only in the cloud, the answer is no: you can keep your originals stored locally.
