Can a Nikon L35AF use 36-exposure 35mm film?

I’ve been shooting 24-exposure rolls of Fujifilm 400 in my Nikon L35AF and noticed that some faster films are sold as 36 exposures. Can the L35AF use 36-exposure 35mm film without any problems? Also, if my developed photos look disappointing, is that caused by the 24-vs-36 exposure roll length?

For a camera made in the 80s, it is very unlikely that you cannot use a roll of 36 exposure film.
36 exposure film merely gives you 36 pictures per roll (sometimes a few more depend on how you load it). The number of exposure itself should not affect the image quality.

Yes. The Nikon L35AF can use standard 35mm film in either 24- or 36-exposure rolls. The cartridge size is the same; a 36-exposure roll simply gives you more frames on a longer strip of film. That by itself does not reduce image quality.
If you’re unhappy with your results, the roll length is not the cause. Image quality is more likely affected by things like exposure, focus/sharpness, lighting, film condition/storage, the camera’s condition, or the quality of the lab processing and scanning/printing. Drugstore processing can sometimes be a weak link compared with a dedicated photo lab.
So: use 36-exposure film freely in the L35AF. If quality is the real issue, look at film choice, shooting technique, and especially where the film is developed and scanned.
