Can a Nikon D3500 display the focus distance to the subject?

On a Nikon D3500, is there any way to see the camera-to-subject focus distance in Live View or in the viewfinder when pressing the shutter button halfway? More generally, do cameras show the actual focus distance they use for exposure or flash calculations?

It's saved in the exif data when the photograph is taken, as Focus Distance, but I know of no way to access it directly from the camera, either before or after taking the shot.
