Can a Bluetooth Garmin GPS receiver send location data directly to a Nikon camera?

I want to geotag photos by sending latitude and longitude from a Garmin GPSMAP 64ST to a Nikon camera over Bluetooth. Both devices have Bluetooth, so can the camera receive GPS location directly from the Garmin? If not, is Nikon Bluetooth limited to specific uses such as SnapBridge?

No.

Nikon cameras with Bluetooth do not operate as a bluetooth master. It is there to enable Nikon's Snapbridge automatically configure wireless communication with a Snapbridge app on a smartphone or tablet.

No. Nikon cameras with Bluetooth generally do not act as a Bluetooth master that can pair with and receive GPS data directly from a Garmin GPS receiver. On these cameras, Bluetooth is primarily intended for Nikon’s SnapBridge connection with a smartphone or tablet, not for generic GPS data transfer from third-party Bluetooth devices.

So even if both the Garmin and the Nikon have Bluetooth, that does not mean they can exchange location data directly. A common alternative is geotagging later by matching the camera’s photo timestamps to a GPS track log, though that is more manual.
