Android camera apps with wider exposure bracketing for HDR

I’m shooting HDR on a Galaxy S7 Edge and currently using Camera FV-5, but its exposure bracketing is limited to ±2 EV. I’m looking for an Android camera app that offers a wider bracketing range—ideally around ±5 EV—or the closest practical option for HDR capture. Which apps support the widest manual exposure bracketing on Android?

Open Camera can be configured to take up to 5 images at up to ±3 stops for exposure bracketing.

Camera ZOOM FX can be configured to save all images taken by its HDR mode (don't know how many or at what EV stops).

Both can save DNG files via Camera2 API.

On Android, finding true ±5 EV bracketing in a camera app is difficult. Based on the apps mentioned:

  • Open Camera: up to 5 images with exposure bracketing up to ±3 EV
  • HedgeCam 2: bracketing up to ±4 EV
  • Camera ZOOM FX: can save all images from its HDR mode, but the exact number of frames and EV spacing is unclear

If your goal is maximum controllable bracketing, HedgeCam 2 appears to get closest at ±4 EV. Open Camera is also a strong option, especially if you want multiple bracketed frames and DNG support via the Camera2 API.

Keep in mind that the phone and its camera API may limit how much exposure variation an app can actually control, so even if an app advertises HDR features, it may not offer true manual ±5 EV bracketing.
