The Konica Autoreflex T4 is a fully mechanical 35mm SLR with auto-exposure functionality. You get a Hexanon AR 50mm 1.7 lens along with this camera. The full-aperture AEC TTL metering system runs on two high-sensitive compound CdS cells. It offers a meter coupling range of EV 1.5 to EV 18 at ASA 100. The film speed range can be adjusted from ASA 25 to 1600. The eye-level pentaprism viewfinder has 0.89× magnification and 90% frame coverage. You can attach an external flash to the hot shoe contact. Although the camera can be used without batteries, it requires two 1.35 V mercury battery cells to function the light meter.
Optics and Focus
This Konica SLR camera comes with a Hexanon 50mm 1.7 AR lens. Its optical design comprises 6 elements in 5 groups. These lens elements have a color dynamic coating applied to them to ensure image saturation and clarity. The lens can be manually focused to capture detailed shots of an object from a distance down to 0.55 m. The camera has shutter-priority auto exposure mode that adjusts the aperture setting as per the set shutter speed. You can increase shutter speed up to 1/1000th of a second to capture clear images of fast-moving objects.
Sensor and Screen
The Konica Autoreflex T4 SLR has an eye-level pentaprism viewfinder with a micro-diaprism and split-image spot. It provides image magnification of 0.89× and 90% frame coverage. The viewfinder shows the meter needle, aperture values, exposure warning marks, and AEC coupling limit indicator. An index is also present in the viewfinder to indicate the stopped-down metering range.
Image and Video
The Konica Autoreflex T4 SLR captures images on a 35mm film to give up to 20 or 36 exposures. This camera has an easy film loading mechanism and a single-stroke advance lever with a winding angle of 139° and 21° stand-off angle. The number of exposed frames are denoted in the frame counter. When you completely rewind the film, the crank automatically returns to its initial position. The bulb mode can be used for capturing long exposure shots.
Other Features
The Konica Autoreflex T4 SLR has a hot shoe for mounting a cord-less electronic flash unit. A flash X-sync contact is provided for connecting cord-type flash devices. The mounted flash can be synchronized with the shutter at 1/125th of a second. Flashbulbs have a maximum synchronization limit of 1/30th of a second. The self-timer allows you to delay the shutter release from 4 to 10 seconds. The camera's light meter functions on two 1.3.5 V mercury battery cells.
