Additionally, the USB 3.1 Type-C port offers backward compatibility with USB 3.1 Gen 2, USB 3.0, 2.0, or USB-A devices. This SSD can read data at a maximum speed of 515 Mbps. You can use this enhanced data transfer rate to run a virtual machine on your computer. The included WD Security software allows you to assign a 256-bit AES hardware encrypted password to the stored data. Thanks to the provided WD backup software, your high-capacity files automatically get transferred to your drive or Dropbox cloud service account. The SSD requires reformatting to use the Time Machine backup software for Apple systems. This SSD offers impact-resistance from a maximum height of 6.5 feet.
