Its ISO sensitivity can be increased to 12800, and shutter speed to 1/2000th of a second. The camera is capable of recording 1080p videos at 60 fps. A 3-inch LCD at the back of the camera lets you thoroughly compose shots by offering 100% screen coverage. The camera also features WiFi, USB 2.0, and HDMI connectivity options.

Optics and Focus

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 Mark II is equipped with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar lens that offers a 10.1–37.4mm focal length range and operates with a maximum aperture of f/1.8. The optical design of the lens involves seven elements arranged in six groups, including four aspherical elements that help override spherical anomalies. These lens elements have a Carl Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating to reduce ghosting and lens flare. The camera comes with a high-speed autofocus system that enables capturing of images from a close focus distance of 5 cm on wide-angle setting and 55 cm on telephoto setting. The Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization minimizes camera shake incidences when shooting handheld.

Sensor and Screen

This Cyber-shot camera from Sony sports a 20.2 MP Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor and a BIONZ image processor that produce clear and bright results even in low-light conditions. The backside-illuminated technology in the CMOS sensor ensures minimum noise while shooting under low light. This camera has a 3-inch LCD on which you can playback captured videos and photos. Moreover, the LCD can be tilted for convenient and accurate shooting from both high and low angles. The screen resolution of the LCD stands at 1,229,000 pixels. Moreover, the LCD comes with a WhiteMagic technology that makes it easier to view the screen.

Image and Video

The Sony RX100 can capture images with a maximum resolution of 5472×3648 dpi in both JPEG and RAW formats. In the continuous-shooting mode, the camera can record a fast-paced moment at the rate of 10 frames a second. Also, the camera records full HD 1080p videos at 60 fps. It also features different creative settings and picture effects that can be used to make each photo look unique.

Other Features

The Sony Cyber-shot RX100 Mark II camera has a built-in flash with an effective range of up to 30 m on a wide-lens setting. You may also attach an external flash to its hot shoe. With the built-in WiFi, the camera can transfer the captured media to other compatible devices. Moreover, with its USB 2.0 connectivity, you can connect it to a PC for transferring photos and videos. The camera has a self-timer function that can delay the shutter release by up to 10 seconds.
