Condition: Good

The Olympus OM-1N is an SLR camera, introduced in 1972, works with OM mount lenses. The camera employs a full aperture TTL exposure metering that is powered by two CdS photocells. You can use this camera at ISO 100 in an exposure range of EV 2 to EV 17. The pentaprism viewfinder offers an accurate field of view. For focusing, the camera uses the split-image screen with a center microprism spot. The hot shoe contact allows you to mount an external flash on the camera. This Olympus SLR functions on a single 1.35 V battery.

Optics and Focus

The Olympus OM-1N can be used with all OM-mount lenses. For focusing, the camera embodies a split-image screen with a microprism spot at the center. There are eleven other focusing screens available to be interchanged with the standard one. The large quick-return mirror with lock-up control prevents blur when setting the exposure. You may adjust the film speed from ASA 25 to 1600, and the shutter speed from 1 second to 1/1000th of a second.

Sensor and Screen

This Olympus camera is fitted with a pentaprism viewfinder that provides 0.92× magnification of the image and a frame coverage of 97% to ensure accurate scene composition. The exposure needle is located inside the finder to keep you aware of the current settings.

Image and Video

The Olympus OM-1N SLR camera takes exposures on 35mm film rolls. Wind the film after each shot by rotating the frame advance ratchet at a 150° angle or a series of short strokes. An optional Motor Drive 1 can be used for automatic film winding and continuous shooting of 5 fps.

Other Features

The OM-1N SLR from Olympus can be used with an electronic flash as well as class M and F flashbulbs mounted on its hot shoe contact. You can connect FP bulbs to the dedicated synchronization point. With the hot shoe, the camera synchronizes the electronic strobe at 1/60th of a second. For FP flashbulbs, the camera offers synchronization from 1/60th to 1/1000th of a second. The exposure counter denotes the number of photos taken. When you open the camera back, the counter resets to the initial "S" position. The self-timer allows you to set the shutter release delay from 4 to 12 seconds.
