The Konica Autoflex T was introduced as the first 35mm SLR having auto-exposure and TTL metering in a single body. Along with the camera, you get a Hexanon 57mm 1.4 AR lens. The TTL metering system of the camera runs on two high-sensitive compound CdS cells. You get an EE coupling range of EV 5 to EV 18 at ASA 100 for the aperture of f/1.2. The camera has a film speed range of ASA 25 to 1600. The eye-level pentaprism viewfinder incorporates a rangefinder for assisting you in focusing. You have to use the optional Accessory Clip 3 to attach the Konica Cube Flash to the camera. The camera's exposure metering is powered by two 1.3V National H-C, Mallory PX-675, or Eveready EPX-675 mercury battery cells.

Optics and Focus

This Konica 35mm SLR camera comes with a Hexanon 57mm 1.4 AR lens. It includes 6 elements in 5 groups. The lens elements have the color dynamic coating that offers saturation and clarity in the image. You can manually focus the lens to capture a detailed shot of an object from a minimum distance of 0.45 m. The camera features shutter-priority auto exposure mode that automatically adjusts the aperture according to the set shutter speed. With the maximum shutter speed of 1/1000th of a second, the camera can capture images of fast-moving objects with clarity.

Sensor and Screen

The camera has an eye-level pentaprism viewfinder that has a Fresnel screen with a built-in rangefinder. It also shows shutter speed scale, aperture scale, exposure warning marks along with other camera-related information on the right side. The viewfinder also has an index for stopped-down metering.

Image and Video

The Konica Autoflex T SLR takes pictures on a 35mm film negative to provide 20 or 36 exposures depending on the roll. This camera has the Konica EL type film loading mechanism. The single-stroke advance lever has a winding angle of 162° and 30° stand-off angle. You get to see the number of exposed frames in the dedicated frame counter. The camera prevents double exposure to utilize each frame correctly. You can use the bulb mode to capture images with long exposures.

Other Features

The camera can be used with the optional Accessory Clip 3 to attach the Konica Cube Flash or small electronic light. This camera offers flash synchronization at 1/125th of a second. There is a self-timer lever at the front, which allows you to delay the shutter release by 10 seconds. The camera uses two 1.3V National H-C, Mallory PX-675 or Eveready EPX-675 mercury battery cells for powering-up the light metering.
