The Canon Elan 7 is a 35mm SLR with autofocus and auto exposure functionality. This camera is usable with Canon EF-mount lenses. The exposure metering is done through-the-lens at maximum aperture with a 35-zone silicon photocell. You may choose the appropriate exposure mode from the given 11 options. The optical viewfinder covers 90% of the vertical and 92% of the horizontal imaging area. The TTL-CT-SIR with a CMOS sensor looks after the autofocus performance of the camera. Also, an AF-assist beam triggers when taking photos in low light. Mount an external flash to the hot shoe or use the built-in flash, having a guide number of 13 m at ISO 100. The camera lets you assign up to 13 often used camera functions to dedicated buttons. This Canon SLR camera requires two CR123A lithium battery.

Optics and Focus

The Canon Elan 7 SLR accepts EF-mount lenses. Its TTL maximum aperture exposure metering offers evaluative, partial, and center-weighted average metering options. The camera uses the TTL-CT-SIR AF control system with a CMOS sensor for the focusing purpose. Image and Video

The camera takes photographs using 35m film rolls. You can capture multiple exposures up to 9 on a single frame with the dedicated mode. The automatic loading feature simplifies the film insertion process. With the automatic film advance, the camera lets you capture continuous shots at a maximum frame rate of 4 fps. At the end of the roll, the camera rewinds the film automatically. The auto bracketing feature takes three consecutive frames at different exposures.

Other Features

This camera has a built-in flash with a guide no. of 13 m at ISO 100 for allowing photo capture at night or in dim interiors. The flash takes approximate 2 seconds to recharge after the first trigger. The hot shoe contact can be used for mounting E-TTL, A-TTL, and TTL flash heads. You can synchronize the mounted flash to the shutter speed at 1/125th of a second. There are 10 custom functions, to which you can assign your preferred camera settings.
