Overview

THIS IS A USED ITEM
IMAGES ARE FOR ILLUSTRATIVE PURPOSES ONLY
Condition: Excellent

The Sony A58 Digital SLR Camera embodies a high-quality imaging power and variety of intelligent features. You can fit Sony alpha or Minolta lenses to this camera. The 20.1 MP Exmor HD APS-C CMOS sensor and BIONZ image processor deliver high-quality images in low light conditions. You can utilize 15-Point AF system with 3 cross-type sensors for accurate focus. You can use the continuous shooting mode to take full-resolution still shots at 5 fps. The inclusion of the translucent mirror technology allows you to compose the scene and playback videos with both LCD and viewfinder. An NP-FM500H rechargeable battery can be used for powering this camera.

Optics and focus

The A58 offers compatibility to Sony Alpha and Minolta camera. The 15-point AF system is aided by the translucent mirror technology for providing quick and accurate response for the phase- and contrast-detection focusing. You can use the mechanical shutter to take pictures of fast-moving objects without experiencing the rolling shutter effect or choose the electronic shutter for a completely silent operation. The camera's ISO range can be set between 100 and 16000.

Sensor and Screen

The 20.1 MP Exmor HD APS-C CMOS sensor offers high color sensitivity to produce a vibrant image. A 2.7-inch LCD is located at the rear that offers 460.8K-dot resolution view of the scene. You can tilt it 135° upwards and 55° downwards. The SVGA Tru-Finder OLED EVF provides 1440K-dot resolution view. You can adjust the diopter of the viewfinder eyepiece from -4.0 to +4.0 m. Both viewfinder and LCD have 100% screen coverage.

Image and video

The camera can capture images in JPEG and RAW with a maximum resolution of 5456×3632 dpi. This camera supports 1080i video recording at 60 fps. The Sony SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization reduces camera shakes when shooting handheld. When working at night, the BIONZ image processing engine minimizes the noise in the picture as well as supports the continuous shooting mode of 5 fps. You can also use the Multi Frame NR and Hand-held Twilight function when shooting at night or in dark places. The HDR mode takes three shots of the scene with different exposure setting and composes it into a single file that shows more dynamic color tones, mid-tones, and shadows.

Other Features

The camera has a built-in flash with a guide number of 32.81 feet at ISO 100. You can also mount an external flash unit to the top hot shoe. The camera can record audio simultaneously in the video mode with an optional boom mic. With the self-timer, you can set the shutter release delay from 2 to 10 seconds. You can connect an optional RM-VPR1 remote for triggering the camera shutter from a distance. The camera is powered by a 1600 mAh NP-FM500H Li-ion battery.
