Portkeys PL5 5.4in HDMI Live Streaming Monitor

OVERVIEW

The Portkeys PL5 is a 5.4-inch on-camera monitor that doubles up as a live-streaming capture card. Made out of ABS and polycarbonate, the PL5 weighs only 154.5g/5.45oz and has dimensions of only 135.1 x 82.5 x 22mm. This compact and lightweight monitor won’t weigh you down while adding a plethora of helpful monitoring and live streaming features to your camera setup.

The PL5 features a 5.4-inch 10-bit (8+2 FRC) touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1152, a maximum brightness of 500nits, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and an extensive 178° viewing angle.

Powered by Portkeys’ latest operating system, MOVNORM OS, the PL5 is a breeze to use and navigate, and it comes with all the professional monitoring tools you need to make precise and confident decisions on set, including:

• 3D LUT monitoring with 3D LUT HDMI and USB-C output capabilities. Custom LUTs can be loaded via the USB-A port at the bottom of the monitor.
• Customizable False Color with 13 different colors, including ARRI False Color.
• RGB and Luma Waveform/Histogram exposure tools. There is also an adjustable Zebra tool.
• Anamorphic image de-squeeze with all the standard ratios (1.33x, 1.5x, 2.0x) and the possibility to enter a custom aspect ratio from 0.25 to 4.0x.
• Stretch leg tool: when shooting vertically, you can stretch the bottom part of the image. The stretch leg tool feature can be sent to the HDMI output.

On the left side of the monitor, you’ll find one 4K DCI 30p HDMI video input port, one 3.5mm headphone jack, and one 3.5mm microphone input. All of the video output ports are located on the right side of the PL5, with one HDMI output port and one USB 3.0 Type-C video output port, both of which support resolutions up to 1080P60.

However, more than a monitor, the PL5 is also a live-streaming device with a USB-C video output port. It can connect to a desktop or laptop computer and broadcast to any platform via OBS.

Designed as an all-in-one solution, we also implemented multiple features to make your life easier:

• The ability to apply a 3D LUT to the output video.
• A 360° color grader to adjust the Hue and Saturation of a select part of the image. You can precisely select and isolate a specific color range in the image and apply modifications to it.
• Adjust the contrast, sharpness, brightness, color temperature, and tint of your image.
• Built-in image flip.
• Free rectangle cropping, which allows you to create a zoomed-in close-up shot inside your image. You can create multiple rectangle cropping presets to add dynamism to your live stream quickly and easily.
