Portkeys MT22DS II 21.5in Monitor

OVERVIEW

The Portkeys MT22DS II is a 21.5-inch professional high-brightness production monitor with 1,500nits of brightness, a rugged aluminum alloy construction, two 3G-SDI, one GPI, and one HDMI input ports, one 3G-SDI and one HDMI output ports with cross-conversion, that can be powered via mains or two V-Mount/Gold Mount batteries, and that comes with a complete set of precise monitoring tools.

21.5-Inch Daylight-Viewable Production Display

The Portkeys MT22DS II features a matte 21.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a 1200:1 contrast ratio, and a wide 178° viewing angle. With a maximum brightness of 1,500nits, the display stays clearly viewable outdoors, whether it’s being used by the director, DOP, or technical departments to make confident decisions on set.

Color accuracy

Each Portkeys MT22DS II is factory color-calibrated with Calman tools and colorimeters, achieving a DeltaE below 2 and 100% coverage of both the Rec.709 and DCI-P3 color spaces, so what you see on screen matches what’s being captured.

A Complete Monitoring Toolset

The MT22DS II comes equipped with the tools professionals expect from a production monitor:

• Triple-screen vertical mode, equivalent to three 12-inch monitors.
• Triple-screen horizontal mode with waveform/histogram/vectorscope overlays.
• H2V Crop mode for producing horizontal and vertical formats side by side.
• Picture-in-picture, picture-by-picture, and single picture modes are also available.

For exposure and image analysis, the monitor offers a full set of tools, including:

• Waveform with pre/post 3D LUT.
• RGB and Luma Waveform.
• RGB Histogram.
• Vectorscope.
• Zebra.
• ARRI False Color.
• Focus assist and peaking.
• Anamorphic image de-squeeze.
• Freeze-frame/overlay support for third-party JPG images.
• Framing tools include crosshair, check field, guides, grids, and rectangle crop, plus audio meters, timecode, and a tally light.

Built to Survive the Most Demanding Shoots

Life on the field can be challenging, especially in fast-paced environments. The Portkeys MT22DS II ships in a durable EPP case, 60% lighter than a traditional flycase, without compromising on protection: it’s drop-resistant, can withstand impacts, floats, is flame-retardant, and can even hold gear on top or serve as a stool.

Inside the case, the monitor itself is housed in an all-aluminum enclosure for maximum durability on location. An optional screen protector is available to guard the display against impacts, fingerprints, and scratches.

A Real Production Hub

The MT22DS II is designed to act as a hub on location or in the studio. It features two V-Mount/Gold Mount battery plates and a 4-pin XLR 12-24V power input, plus three built-in, rotatable Sony NP-F-style battery plates at the top with pass-through power for wireless video receivers.

A broad array of 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 mounting points on all sides accommodates camera accessories, wireless video transmitters, and follow-focus units, while large built-in feet and VESA 100 mounting points at the back add further flexibility. An optional Portkeys VESA Mount to 5/8″ baby pin adapter plate is also available.
