The Nikon 10x30 Monarch HG Binoculars are designed as an alternative to Nikon's 42mm models from their flagship series, for those who need something quickly accessible with a light design, without compromising performance. The 10x30 is designed like all of the HG models, sporting a powerful magnification for viewing distant subjects (ex: large game/marker buoys). The design features an optic that is built to perform in all light conditions, & survive the harshest environments.
The lens elements feature a lead & arsenic-free extra-low dispersion (ED) glass to correct spherical and chromatic aberrations. Also, its phase-corrected & dielectric-coated roof prisms assist in limiting internal light loss, as well as interference, & improve image contrast. The optical path is multi-coated with anti-reflection coatings, which increase image contrast, light transmission, & sharpness, while providing true color rendition. Nikon's field-flattener lens system eliminates the common distortion at the edges of the lenses, allowing for crisp details along the wide field of view. All of these elements work together to provide bright & clear, high-contrast images, with accurate color, & reduced visible hand shake. All of these features assist in using the 10x30, even in early morning or late evening low light scenarios.
The chassis was made using a short bridge design, allowing for a secure gripping surface, as well as a light weight design. The 10x30's rugged design allows the binoculars to survive outdoor use. The optical tubes are nitrogen filled & O-ring sealed, making them fogproof in the event of a temperature change, & waterproof/submersible. The exterior design features textured, rubberized panels for safety regarding knocks & drops. The rubberized panels also offer a slip-resistant grip for secure handling in cold & wet conditions. Also included are tethered objective lens covers.
