Camera: The Fujifilm GFX 100 Digital Mirrorless Camera was designed using decades of research, experience, and knowledge to help create a mirrorless large-format camera that can exceed the limitations and expectations of the way photographers and filmmakers express their creativity. Some of the improvements in design include its large-format auto-focus performance, in-body stabilization, & wide-format 4K/30p motion capture.
Optics & Focus:
The GFX 100 features a Fujifilm G Mount lens mount, making it compatible with G Mount lenses. Its auto-focus performance features AF phase detection pixels throughout most of the sensor to assist in obtaining focus wherever the photographer chooses to position their subject in the frame. The AF features approximately 100% coverage, as well as an increased auto-focus performance, providing speed & accuracy for optimum performance with subject-tracking, eye/face detection, & low-contrast environments.
Sensor & Screen:
Fujifilm's GFX 100 sports a newly-developed back-illuminated 102MP image sensor, with a high speed "X Processor 4" processing engine to provide a combination that can produce 16-bit images that feature great color fidelity, rich shadow detail, & incredible dynamic range. Its back-illuminated design improves the image quality, by bringing the exposure plane closer to the color filter array. Noise, which can be created with most mirrorless cameras, is reduced, & the native ISO extends to ISO 100. Sharpness is also enhanced by nearly eliminating false colors through the use of an optical low-pass filter. Vibrations tend to cause interruptions throughout the image capturing process, & sometimes can lead to soft/out of focus images. This issue is addressed with the GFX 100's built-in-5-axis image stabilization. Its featured dual processor works to provide sensor stability with accuracy & speed, and up to five-stops of image stabilization (even if the camera is paired with a non-optically stabilized FUJINON lens). Accurate large-format capture is now possible in low-light conditions/when shooting handheld.
Image & Video:
The GFX 100 features Fujifilm's venerated color processing engine, which can also be found in other X Series & GFX series cameras. The processing engine features 16 "Film Simulation" modes, which gives photographers & filmmakers a way to express their creativity, in a similar way as to when they choose purpose-specific photographic emulsions. The GFX 100 helps you experience wide-format 4K/30p motion capture, and produce 16-bit images that feature great color fidelity, rich shadow detail, & incredible dynamic range. Its back-illuminated design improves the image quality, by bringing the exposure plane closer to the color filter array.
