The Exell MRB400 1.35v Zinc Air Battery (Z400PX PX400 EPX400 RM400) produces a steady 1.55 V that is slightly higher than the 1.35 V produced by the original PX400 mercury cell. This does not cause any difficulties, and the MRB400 can be used as a replacement as today’s films are remarkably tolerant of underexposure. As the cell produces a steady voltage of 1.55 V, you can compensate the difference by using a fixed number of stops or by adjusting the ASA setting. The Exell MRB400 1.35v Zinc Air Battery (Z400PX PX400 EPX400 RM400) is also used widely in dog collars, dog watches, and mentor pens from brands like PetSafe and Reichert.
