The DJI Mavic 2 Pro combines the professional touch of high-end cameras with ariel technology. It holds a 20 MP Hasselblad L1D-20c gimbal camera that is powered by a 1-inch MOS sensor. The camera provides 4K 10-bit HDR video capture that can be streamed on a 4K TV using HLG. This drone camera also takes HDR photos to retain both highlights and shadows in the image. You also get high-quality images in low light with reduced noise thanks to the HyperLight mode. With the OcuSync 2.0, the drone feed runs uninterrupted from up to 5 miles where the Mavic 2 Pro automatically switches between 2.4 and 5.8 GHz bandwidths. As for the drone's navigation, it uses omnidirectional obstacle sensing to ensure an accident-free course. The ActiveTrack 2.0 sensing makes the drone fly through difficult terrain while keeping the object in the frame. Different flight modes such as POI 2.0 and Waypoint 2.0 simplify flight control. With the included four-cell LiPo battery, the Mavic 2 Pro can stay in the air for 31 minutes.
The DJI Mavic 2 Pro is attached to a Hasselblad L1D-20c 4K camera via a 3-axis gimbal. Firstly, the camera employs the Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution to render professional-quality imagery. Its adjustable aperture of f/2.8–f/11 lets you control the image look in different light conditions.
The 1-inch CMOS sensor is four-times larger than the one in Mavic 1 pro. It produces better image quality than the previous version as more light is collected to provide a high dynamic range, an improved signal-to-noise ratio, and enhanced low-light sensitivity. The OcuSync 2.0 technology ensures a stable video transmission in 1080p from a distance up to 5 miles. To maintain the smooth transmission, the drone automatically shifts between 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands. The video is downloaded at a speed of 40 Mbps with a minimum latency of 120 ms.
The Mavic 2 Pro's Hasselblad camera produces 10-bit HDR videos. With the Dlog-M picture profile, the camera records the video in a wide dynamic range to offer flexibility during the color-grading process. You can playback the log video in natural colors when a 4K TV with HLG is connected. With the HyperLight mode, the drone camera takes photos in low light with minimal noise. The hyperlapse function includes four flight modes, in which you can set the drone to fly freely, follow a circular path or pre-determined course, or fly between different waypoints. You can also capture 180° panoramas with the Mavic 2 Pro. The videos are recorded in H.265 codec to retain more information than the previously used H.264.
The Mavic 2 Pro features ActiveTrack 2.0 to keep the moving object in the frame even when it is blocked temporarily by an obstruction. Its front dual vision sensors create a 3D map of the environment for accurate navigation through terrains. The drone also fixes its gaze on to fast moving objects that travel at speeds up to 72 Kmph. A 3-axis gimbal attaches the camera to the drone for guaranteeing a smooth movement. As for flight navigation, the advanced pilot assistance system ensures the drone flies safely through the set flight path while avoiding obstacles. An auxiliary light is located at the bottom to aid the two down-facing sensors when flying in low light.
