With the air sphere coating, the elements help in lending a high contrast with minimal to no ghosting in the photos. Also, a fluorine coating keeps the front and rear surfaces smudge- and fingerprint-free. The ultrasonic motor AF system enables quick focus on objects, without noise. The nine blades of the diaphragm offer a rounded bokeh effect in the image background. When shooting handheld, the optical image-stabilization system reduces camera shakes significantly. The body of the lens is dust- and moisture-proof, making it ready for use in inclement weather.
