Overview
Specifically designed for digital film production, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera CINECAMPOCHDMFT is a compact, Super 16 format camera. The Super 16-sized sensor captures 13 stops of dynamic range so that your videos possess a real, film-like quality. All videos are captured in Full HD format. The Blackmagic Cinema Camera comes with the active Micro Four Thirds lens mount that is compatible with a range of high-end lenses. Despite its compact dimensions of 5 x 2.6 x 1.5" and lightweight, magnesium alloy structure, this camera is packed with numerous, remarkable features that ensure a crystal clear output.
Optics and Focus
The Pocket Cinema Camera boasts an active Micro Four Thirds lens mount that supports a plethora of exceptional legacy lenses as well as a large range of MFT format lenses. Providing full electronic control over MFT lenses, the camera enables you to simply point and easily set the iris all on command. The camera’s lens mount also accommodates PL or other lens mounts if needed.
Sensor and Screen
The Super 16-sized sensor of the Blackmagic Pocket Camera features an effective 1920 x 1080 resolution that gives your videos a film-like appearance with a super-wide dynamic range of 13 stops. This also allows you to preserve all sensor data for DaVinci Resolve color grading. The sensor also provides two dynamic range settings – film Log and video REC709 – enabling you to effortlessly select the correct dynamic setting for the videos and images being captured. With the special DaVinci Resolve Lite property of the camera, you can color correct files natively or transcode them into separate file formats according to your post-production workflow. The camera also has a 3.5-inch, integrated LCD screen with an 800 x 480 resolution that offers a clear view of whatever you record.
Image and Video
Images are shot in high-quality ProRes 422 and lossless, compressed CinemaDNG RAW formats so that each minute detail is captured with a wide dynamic range, providing amazing photographs on a consistent basis. Additionally, since the camera is compatible with true open file formats, you don’t face any unnecessary hurdles while editing. In keeping with the high standard of image capturing, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema also records Full HD videos in both the Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) and the lossless CinemaDNG RAW formats.
Other Features
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera CINECAMPOCHDMFT is equipped with a high-power, long-lasting, detachable and rechargeable EL-EN20 lithium-ion battery. An inbuilt SD card recorder allows you to directly store your media files onto quick and reliable SDXC memory cards while shooting. The camera’s portable designs conveniently fits into your pocket and other small areas; hence its moniker. Other admirable attributes include a focus peaking display and 1:1 scale display.
