Overview

With its compact size and ergonomic design, the Blackmagic Design URSA Mini 4.6K Digital Cinema Camera (EF-Mount) makes it easy to shoot professional quality footage for professional media production houses. It features a 4.6K Super-35 mm sensor, which enables you to shoot true-to-life videos at a greater-than 4K resolution with up to 15 stops of dynamic range. This camera comes with a wide range of professional-grade connections, such as HD-SDI monitoring out, 12G-SDI out, 2 LANC inputs, timecode-in, reference input, and balanced XLR audio with phantom power. Constructed from a magnesium alloy, this camera is lightweight and durable.

Sensor and Screen

The Blackmagic Design URSA digital cinema camera is equipped with a 4.6K Super-35 mm sensor that lets you shoot life-like videos at a greater-than 4K resolution with a dynamic range of up to 15 stops. The 5-inch diagonal LCD capacitive touchscreen has a 1080p resolution for viewing your subjects and accessing menus with ease.

Image and Video

This camera is capable of shooting 4.6K videos at its highest resolution of 4608 x 2592 pixels in the CinemaDNG Raw format at up to 60 fps. For added flexibility, you can record UHD and Full HD videos at resolutions of 3840 x 2160 pixels and 1080p, respectively, by using ready-to-edit ProRes files in various ways within the 422 and 444 chroma sub-sampling variations, depending on your workflow.

Other Features

The dual CFast 2.0 memory card slots in the Blackmagic Design URSA Mini 4.6K are useful for accommodating dual CFast memory cards in order to record additional footage for longer durations by having the camera switch cards when one of them is full. This camera has plenty of professional-grade connections, which include HD-SDI monitoring out, timecode-in, reference input, 12G-SDI out, 2 LANC inputs, and balanced XLR audio with phantom power. Use the 2 inbuilt XLR mic inputs for capturing high-quality audio directly from the camera. This eliminates the need to carry additional audio-recording equipment. Also included with this camera is a USB dongle that contains the DaVinci Resolve software and a license to unlock the software’s full feature-set. This software gives you the freedom to perform editing, media management, color grading, mastering, and delivery tasks with ease. The 4-pin XLR industry-standard power connector, which is included with the camera, works with the 12-V to 30-V external power supplies. This is essential for using the camera with existing professional batteries and power supplies. This camera is constructed from a magnesium alloy, which makes it durable and lightweight.
