Wedding Photographer Sued for Missing the "Money Shot"

How important is it for wedding photographers to catch the ceremonial wedding kiss? Very important apparently.

One Australian photographer has been involved in a year-long legal battle with a couple after they claim he didn't capture the wedding kiss among other complaints...His response was that it was just a "peck", too quick to capture:

“A couple’s wedding day is a very special one, and we take pride in recording it for them … We believe we did so for Jarrad and Sheree and were equally disappointed that their wedding kiss was no more than a quick peck, making it impossible to catch.”

The couple argues that the photos they received didn't have the same artistic charm as the ones on their website. They claim many of them were blurry and featured unflattering shadows from the flash hitting the lens hood. To make matters worse, the wedding photographer allegedly burned them a disk of just unconverted raw files...

The couple refused to pay the full amount which led to the couple suing for $6400 in damages from having to recreate the wedding to get the shot. The photographer  counter-sued for $5700 in damages including a meal which he was not supplied. The case was recently dismissed and neither received what they were asking: The photographer was ordered to pay $750 to the couple and received $60 for the long-lost dinner.

Well, there's no such thing as a free meal...Maybe they should have gotten Judge Joe Brown on the case.
