What seems like forever ago (but really earlier this year) I posted an article about one man and his dream of putting some wheels on giant box camera and taking it across America to document what's left of our heritages. Dennis Manarchy has been envisioning this ambitious project for some time and it seems like he's made progress in attaining his goal. Although we haven't seen more than a prototype, his colossal images look stunning when you look at them at high resolution. With the process down, all that's left is to get out there and shoot. The map below shows his intended spots corresponding to the different cultures he will photograph. Once he's finished, the massive images won't be displayed in any normal fashion. Going big or going home, they'll be showcased along with video, music, and performance in what will probably look more like a rock concert than a gallery opening. Anyway, I look forward to the final results.
