With a new book soon to be released, Mr. Smith is at a point in his career that is either the beginning or the end.

Join Rodney Smith at Unique University on
Thursday, September 17th, from 6-8pm as he highlights the philosophical and aesthetic changes his pictures have undergone, using a slideshow and a lecture that are introspective, chronological journeys through his 40 years of making photographs. He will address the importance of maintaining artistic vision and distinct style while photographing commercially. Spreads from his new book, The End, will also be presented. Then, he’ll discuss what, if anything, is next for him.

Clients such as The New York Stock Exchange, American Express, and The New York City Ballet, along with many others, have commissioned Mr. Smith. His editorial clients include The New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, W Magazine, and many more while his fashion clients include Ralph Lauren, Neiman Marcus, Ellen Tracy, Bergdorf Goodman, and Saks Fifth Avenue. He has won multiple awards and photography contests. Several galleries have also represented Mr. Smith, including the Gallerie Zur Stockeregg and The Witkin Gallery. The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Yale University Art Gallery, The Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Houston Museum of Fine Arts (among others), have collected Mr. Smith’s work.

His first three books, In the Land of Light, The Hat Book, The Book of Books, have all found success. His fourth book, The End, is due for publication in the Fall of 2009.

And as a special exclusive, The End will be available at the seminar for viewing, as well as sale, before it hits the market!
