I can't get enough of these olde-tyme movies showing the golden days of photography in a such a cheery, violin-orchestrated light. In this film we are given the perspective of the great Edward Weston, now considered one of the masters of photography... Even though they first show him in the same vein as a tree-hugging cat lady, it's funny to hear them say that he used an "old fashioned view camera"... if 8x10 cameras were obsolete at the time he was using it, what are they considered now? It almost seems like a bizarre episode of Twilight Zone... if he only knew how digitally gear driven the camera world would become. Although times have changed, there's a take home message that is still very relevant: Don't try to satisfy others with your personal work, it'll only drive you nuts. Make images that satisfy you.
