On Saturday, April 17th, Tamron's Ken Hubbard took over with two seminars, the first of which was "Exploring Digital Black and White"!
During this seminar, Ken demonstrated how to create the best possible black and white images with software like Adobe Photoshop and Nik Silver Efex Pro. From there, printing tips and techniques were discussed. For the second seminar of the day, Ken presented "Travel and Landscape Photography", where he detailed the steps from setting up and evaluating your scene all the way to the final output in print. As for our Sunday morning meet-up at The Great Swamp Wildlife Refuge, the turnout was especially amazing as over fifty individuals joined us for a casual, relaxing day of photography! From Unique, Michael Downey and others (including Scott, Bob, and Sean) from the store were present. Patty Gregitis and Ken were also present on behalf of Tamron. Free Tamron loaner lenses were also distributed to interested attendees as they tested the selections available on the different trails and blinds at The Great Swamp!
Tamron's Andre Costantini was also present at Unique for his Sunday afternoon seminar on "Fundamentals of Creative Lighting"! The basics of capturing light were discussed as he demonstrated the different lighting equipment needed.
Some great items (including Lowepro bags, gift cards, and the grand prize of a Tamron 18-270mm lens) were also raffled off during the course of the extravaganza events! (Congratulations if you were one of our lucky winners!)
Again, the extravaganza was a huge success and we at Unique are extremely grateful to all of you camera clubs and individuals for attending! We'd also like to give a special thanks to Adam Barker, Ken Hubbard, Andre Costantini, Patty Gregitis, and Tamron for providing some great seminars!
