Professional Photographer Doug Menuez and the Nikon Coolpix A

The Nikon Coolpix A is the latest entry into the new (and thriving) compact camera war. With a DX-sized sensor coupled to a prime 28mm equivalent lens, it appears to be a camera well-suited to street photography and photojournalism. Which is convenient, since Nikon sent a preproduction copy to Doug Menuez, an established New York City street photographer, to take it for a test drive. The images he came up with were pretty damn good considering it was his first time using the camera. That certainly seems to speak volumes for the camera's ease of use, especially since it's control system is based on the company's line of D-SLR cameras. There's no lack of versatility in the images he captured that range from a sunset landscape, interiors, portraits, and macro shots.

Excited for this camera? We here can't wait to take it for a spin. Keep up-to-date with the Unique Photo Blog for more information.
